When we think about Jesus' disciples, we usually picture a group of men. But Jesus actually had many women friends and followers! Though many of these women are never named, the Gospels describe Jesus having several extraordinary encounters and enduring relationships with women. In fact, Jesus' longest recorded conversation was with a woman. When his friend died, Jesus wept with his friend's sisters who were like his own sisters. Women were with Jesus as he died on the cross, and it was a woman who was first to meet him on Easter morning!
