Director of BELOVED Family
​and Children’s Ministries

Purpose:
 
The Director of BELOVED Family and Children’s Ministries works with the Pastor, Minister of Spiritual Growth and Wellbeing, the Director of Compassion, and BELOVED leadership teams to promote the values, vision and mission of BELOVED by facilitating, overseeing, encouraging, and promoting the BELOVED Family and Children’s Ministries.
 
Roles and Responsibilities​:

BELOVED Family and Children Ministries Program
  • Development and Education
  • Recruits and trains adult staff or volunteers for BFC programs
  • Assists with curriculum selection and program design
  • Completes Worship and Wonder (Young Children in Worship) training
Management
  • Provides direct instruction and care for children (ages nursery through primary grades)
  • Skillfully manages expected and unexpected child behaviors
  • Organizes, sets up, and stocks events with necessary supplies
  • Coordinates and supervises necessary adult support to maintain appropriate adult-child ratios
  • Oversees the safety and sanitation protocols for BFC events
  • Maintains contact and offers personal compassion care for program participants
Marketing and Communications
  • Maintains email contact list
  • Promotes Family and Children ministry programs
  • Maintains regular communication with the Minister of Spiritual Growth and Wellness
  • Communicates the needs of the children’s program to other staff as appropriate
Administrative
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the ministry staff that contribute to the administration and life of the Church
  • Participates in quarterly Beloved San Diego Leadership Retreat Days
  • Participates in the life and worship of the BELOVED San Diego movement
Accountability
  • Supervision – Minister of Spiritual Growth and Wellness
  • Program Support – BELOVED Family and Children Ministry Team
  • Annual Performance Review – Minister of Spiritual Growth and Wellness
 
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable in child development and various educational methods
  • Certificate in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Comfortable engaging children with disabilities
  • Comfortable with progressive Christian theology
  • Comfortable with contemplative spiritual practices
  • First Aid and CPR Certified

Suggested Compensation (Monthly): $500

Anticipated Hours Required (Month): 40 hours                             
 
Beloved Family and Children Ministries Program
    Development and Education: 16 hours (4 hours/week)
  • Assists with curriculum selection and program design (2 hours)
  • Recruits and trains adult staff or volunteers for BFC programs (2 hours)
  • Completes Worship and Wonder (Young Children in Worship) training (As Needed)
    Management: 14 hours (3 hours/week for weekly event, 2 hours total for bi-monthly meetings)
  • Provides direct instruction and care for children
  • Skillfully manages expected and unexpected child behaviors
  • Organizes, sets-up, and stocks events with necessary supplies
  • Coordinates and supervises necessary adult support
  • Oversees the safety and sanitation protocols for BFC events
  • Maintains contact and offers personal compassion care
Marketing and Communications: 6 hours
  • Maintains email contact list (2 hours)
  • Promotes Family and Children ministry programs (2 hours)
  • Communication with the Minister of Spiritual Growth/Wellness (As Needed)
  • Communicates the needs of the children’s program to other staff as appropriate (As Needed)
Administrative: 4 hours
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the ministry staff (As Needed)
  • Participates in quarterly Beloved San Diego Leadership Retreat Days (As Needed)
  • Participates in the life and worship of the Beloved San Diego movement (4 hours)
